A WOMAN'S RITE OF PASSAGE

Somewhere along the way, we lost touch with the deep sacredness of being a woman—the creative life force that flows through our bodies, hearts, and bloodlines. We forgot how to honour ourselves and our sisters through each pivotal threshold of this human journey. We lost sight of the sacred gifts God has given us and the wisdom carried through the lineage of women who came before us.

For centuries—perhaps much longer—women gathered in community to honour life's transitions. They came together to reflect on the chapter that had passed, celebrate their growth, and welcome the next stage of becoming.

Women have long gathered in circle, united through love, friendship, and shared wisdom, to witness and support one another through life's many seasons. These sacred gatherings reminded us that we were never meant to walk alone.

It is time to remember. To honour the cycles of our lives, reclaim these ancient traditions, and gather once again in sisterhood—celebrating who we have been, who we are, and who we are becoming.

WHAT IS RITE OF PASSAGE?

A rite of passage is a ceremonial acknowledgement of one stage of life coming to completion and the beginning of another. These transitions are often marked by significant life events such as birth, the journey from childhood into adolescence, menstruation, marriage, motherhood, menopause, and death.

While rites of passage are often associated with life's major milestones, they can honour any meaningful transition that brings growth and transformation. Women, in particular, move through many seasons throughout their lives, each carrying its own lessons, challenges, and gifts. These transitions deserve to be honoured and respected, allowing us to consciously release what has been and create space for what is emerging.

In a world so focused on maintaining a certain appearance, identity, or level of ability, we have lost touch with the beauty of welcoming each new version of ourselves. Through ritual, reflection, and sisterhood, we can embrace these transitions with wisdom, acceptance, and love, trusting that each stage of life holds its own sacred purpose.

HOW TO WE ACHIEVE THIS?

Ideally, these rites of passage would be honoured each step of the way, surrounded and witnessed by our sisters. However, if you are reading this, I imagine that some of these transitions may have passed without the acknowledgement, guidance, or support you needed.

So, we are invited to revisit them. To walk gently back through time and meet the woman we once were. To honour each stage of her journey, welcoming her into where she is now and offering the love, understanding, and wisdom she may not have received at the time. You will be required to ring things from your past that represent different stages of your life (more info for those that commit to the day).

This is not about changing the past or wishing things had been different. You are exactly where you are meant to be, shaped by the experiences and lessons that have brought you here.

Rather, this is an invitation into acceptance, embodiment, and honouring. By acknowledging the women we have been, we create space to fully embrace the woman we are today and step with greater ease into the chapter ahead.
